Welcome to the 2017 Festival of Cultures.

The Festival of Cultures is Palmerston North’s chance to celebrate art, culture and lifestyle, and explore their connections to each other and our local community. The three day festival is vibrant and energetic, strengthened by events held on either side of the three days. This is a positive, family-friendly event that is one of the longest-standing community events in Palmerston North everyone can enjoy.

With a variety of mainly free entertainment, covering areas such as food, music, arts and craft, cultural talks and performances, the event is fully accessible to everyone.

There is a week of pre-festival events including a Rangoli Workshop, lantern-making and music workshops. The full three-day Festival opens with  the Lantern Festival and Parade on Friday 3 March, and includes the World Food, Craft and Music Fair on Saturday 4 March and Ngahau Te Manawa – Fiesta Time on Sunday 5 March.

This event would not be possible without funding from the Palmerston North City Council Core Event Fund and Central Energy Trust, and is produced in association with the Manawatu Multi-cultural Centre.

We thank all of our sponsors and of course appreciate the support of our community who make this amazing event happen.
